Mummering is a tradition that happens in Newfoundland, Labrador and within a few other places outside of Canada during the 12 days of Christmas. People dress in disguise and visit homes, often entertaining their hosts with songs and dances. The hosts must then guess the mummers’ identities before serving them something to eat and drink.
