Here are some updates on how our Running Room Athletic Club athletes fared over the summer.
Mallory Swatton finished 5th overall at a sprint Spartan race in the Ottawa area (2nd place in her age group).
At the Edmonton marathon race weekend, Vanessa Trofimenkoff finished as the 2nd lady, running a new PB in the process. Taylor Carlin was 3rd, Lisa Stewart was 4th and Roxane Skoreyko was 5th. On the men’s side, Leonard Chesoo picked up another win with Michael Stewart finishing in 4th spot. David Mutai picked up the win in the marathon.
Chan Woo finished second at the Alberta masters games in the trail race.
Alex Ricard has had a good couple of weeks in Squamish, winning the Squamish loggers festival 8K and the Squamish 23K trail run, setting a new course record. Alex has been named to the NACAC national trail running team which will compete in Mexico in October. Congratulations, Alex!
Kris Swanson picked up wins at the Emperor’s challenge mountain run and the Whistler 5 Peaks Mountain Run.
Amanda Wilkins had a good one at the Yorkville 5K, running 18:21 for a new 5K PB to finish 7th lady on the day.
Mallory Swatton had a good run at the Great North Run in NewCastle, running a solid 1:35 as part of her vacation.
David Mutai got the win at the Rimouski marathon, I think he ends his summer campaign undefeated. Nice work!
Mat Bilodeau picked up the win at the Alberta race walking champs and feels he is on track for the world champs. There is some good coverage about him in La Presse.
Jeff Costen ended up 3rd at Toronto Island 10K.
