The Mississauga Marathon

The Mississauga Marathon celebrated 15 years in 2018 with record numbers taking part in seven different race distances. Fast forward one year and organizers are looking to extend the celebration with course enhancements, a sharp new website, interactive race maps and awesome finishers’ medals. Canada’s sixth largest city comes alive at Mississauga Marathon time, which also aligns perfectly with kick starting a great season of races.

Starting at Celebration Square in full view of the award winning “Marilyn Monroe” buildings, runners will cross over the Credit River to Mississauga Road. The University of Toronto’s Mississauga Campus, the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club and beautiful residential neighbourhoods will lead to the picturesque Port Credit Lighthouse. From there, it’s on to the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail and the finish line at Lakefront Promenade Park. All this while spring is in sight and trees, flowers and gardens are bright with colour.

Known for its beautiful course, the Mississauga Marathon also boasts fast times. The 80 metre net downhill course draws in a significant number of runners looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon or achieve a personal best time.

On Friday and Saturday, visit the Health and Wellness Expo with over 30 unique exhibitors at Port Credit Memorial Arena.

The expo is open to the public and parking is free.

The Mississauga Marathon race weekend offers “A Run for Everyone,” with events including the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Corporate Relay Challenge, MNP 10K, 10K Student Relay, Novo Nordisk “Hazel” 5K and 2K Fun Run/Walk. Free parking, free shuttles and free baggage check are available at all races. Bring the whole family!
