Winnipeg recognized one of its own by making a special presentation to an individual whose efforts have permeated the running community. This year’s recipient of Running Room Volunteer of the Year Award is Aldo Furlan.

In centre: John Stanton, Kenaston store manager Lorraine Walton, Aldo Furlan (holding award), Chris Walton.

For several years, Aldo’s tireless commitment has extended to the Manitoba Runners’ Association, Running Room, Ted’s Run for Literacy, the Manitoba Marathon, a Running and Reading program, and any situation that invited an encouraging word, a helping hand, guidance or leadership. It is something to behold when someone goes above and beyond every time in pursuit of the betterment of our community. We want to congratulate Aldo and thank him for his spirit and generosity. Anyone who knows him would proudly and respectfully agree that the award is well-deserved.
